OMFA 2020 VIRTUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL (Global Announcement)
The Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) is pleased to announce that REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the OMFA 2020 VIRTUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL.
The OMFA has hosted the Provincial Finals Competition for 48 years. Over 200,000 young musicians are impacted through the 47 member festivals across Ontario and exceptional musicians are recommended to proceed to the Provincial Finals.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Finals have been cancelled for this year and have been replaced with the OMFA 2020 VIRTUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL.
The Ontario Music Festivals Association is made up of 47 member festivals in the province of Ontario who run local music festivals. OMFA’s purpose and objective is the development and encouragement of talented Ontario youth in the performance and knowledge of classical music and music theatre.
The VIRTUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL is open to all ages (6 - 100) and to anyone who resides in the province of Ontario. Competitors can enter in any of the following categories: Brass, Guitar, Harp, Musical Theatre, Piano, Speech Arts, Strings, Voice and Woodwinds. Age levels, graded levels, rules and regulations and more specific information can be found at www.omfa.ca.
Internationally recognized adjudicators in their field of expertise will judge the entrants. All competitors will receive a written adjudication. First, second, third and honourable mention placements will be announced.
This is a great opportunity for musicians across Ontario! Videos will be uploaded to public YouTube channels for all to see and hear. With all that's happening in the world today we are eager to offer Ontario’s musicians the opportunity to be recognized for all their hard work. We are excited to hear all the submissions!
Deadline for video submission entries is June 1st, 2020.
